This course is designed to prepare students to handle the practical and managerial

fields of planning, scheduling, organizing and controlling safety and quality control.

The course aims to provide the basic knowledge of topography to a student, to be competent in a range of routine tasks and activities that require the application of a range of basic practical skills in topography. It will equip students to carryout and interpret contour map manually or by computer application software. It also gives the competence to students to use surveying instruments. It covers coordinate system and Symbols as used in topography,Contour lines,Field exercises to produce a contour map, use of Covadis , the surveyor’s levels and their use in Levelling, Theodolite and Total Station.

The present module will enable all university third year students to acquire skills through the measurement and estimation of civil engineering works, to quantify, estimate cost, interprete thebuilding drawings, to conduct the rate analysis, to analyze the tenders and prepare the corresponding bids for engineering works competitions. 

This course is intended to provide a body of knowledge on the design of Steel and timber Structures. It is based on theoretical  and is using practical methods and regulations, adopted through the world. The course gives principles of design of such structures as Beams, columns, connections and roof trusses.
