This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to perform
topographical survey. It is intended for learners pursuing TVET diploma of irrigation and
drainage technology. At the end of this module the students will be able to identify the
site according to the technical requirements, select tools and equipment to perform
topographic tasks, apply data collection techniques, store field collected data, produce
topographic map, and use the topographic map. Qualified student deemed competent to
this competency, may work with others in support of current professional practice in
marshland, hillside, small scale irrigation, garden, greenhouses under guidance.
