This module is
designed for the BTech in Mining Technology. It equips the learner with the
knowledge, skills and attitudes required to successfully determine ground
conditions, design the rock fragmentation techniques, design the ground support
system, and install ground support and reinforcement. By the end of this
module, the learner will be able to use the principles of soil and rock
mechanics to form a solution for engineering problems. Principally, the learner
will be able to investigate, design, and monitor open pit and underground
mines’ ground control systems.
This
module describes the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for a Bachelor of
Technology (BTech) student to perform advanced mineral processing technologies.
This module requires various learning activities where students will identify
analytical and mineral processing techniques, strategic plans to upgrade the
mineral resources, sustainable technologies for extracting and refining the
metal value and grading the gemstones.
