This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to communicate effectively at the workplace. It is intended for learners pursuing TVET Advanced diploma of Irrigation and Drainage Technology. In fact, the trainee will be able to write trade-related texts including essays and professional documents, describe events, appropriately deliver impromptu speeches and perform professional interviews. The trainee will be able to read, listen and summarise effectively. Once this module is well delivered the trainee will be equipped with necessary skills to communicate in English at the workplace.
This course provides the knowledge base required of an entrepreneur. In this course you will learn several key concepts of entrepreneurship, especially in the context of the new economy.
Starting from the inception/generation of a business idea to its execution, this course will provide participants, in addition to the knowledge base, a framework to understand the workings of a business.
Students will learn the mechanics of writing a business plan that is the launch pad of a viable new enterprise and also have the opportunity to hone their presentation skills.
