This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to the learner to valuate construction work, perform measurement of works, Prepare valuation of works done and assess variation orders of the projects. This module is intended for learners pursuing a TVETdiploma in quantity surveying. At the end of this module, the learners will be able to identify executed works, quantify executed works, compile documents to support an application , verify executed works, confirm quantities of executed works, draft valuation documents, identify additional works,quantify additional works and cost variation.

Construction projects span a number of functions across a number of specialty parties and trades, but the one thing they all share in common is their desire to deliver quality work - on time and on budget. Without quality management systems, construction projects might not meet building code requirements, leading to additional time and money spent on rework. Quality control and quality assurance might sound like the same thing, but in construction, they refer to different aspects of Quality management. Quality assurance creates a plan to meet quality requirements, while quality control enacts processes to fill those specific requirements. It is integral to any construction company that wants to maintain a good reputation. Quality control is also essential to ensure that all project outcomes and services meet customer expectations. Although both are essential for a business to run properly. Therefore, having both in place is essential for an effective Quality Management system on construction
