ENGINEERING THERMODYNAMICS

This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required in heat and work and those properties of matter that relate to heat and work even generating power and refrigerate. Both power generation and refrigeration are usually accomplished by thermodynamics system. This module is intended to trainees pursuing TVET diploma in Air conditioning and refrigeration. At the end of this module, trainees will be able to:

  • Describe common thermodynamic principles,
  • Describe thermodynamics laws,
  • Calculate properties of gas during expansion and compression and
  • Describe steam plants and calculate thermal efficiency.
  • They will be able to exercises some initiatives and independence in carrying out defined activities at professional level

This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to theoretical applications of strength of materials including classifying the different types of stresses and describing in details the method of finding the volumetric strain. At the end of this module, the trainees will be able to describe materials and mechanical properties for steel and steel sections, calculate direct stress and strain for structural applications, describe bending moments and shear forces for beams. He or She will have the ability to exercise some initiative and independence in carrying out defined activities at a professional level.

FRANÇAIS ELEMENTAIRE DANS LE METIER

Ce module « Français élémentaire dans le métier » vise à initier les apprenants à l’usage du français dans des situations professionnelles simples et courantes. Il met l’accent sur l’acquisition du vocabulaire de base, des structures grammaticales essentielles et des expressions usuelles nécessaires à la communication au travail. À travers des activités pratiques et contextualisées, les étudiants développent leur capacité à se présenter, à demander et donner des informations, à interagir avec leurs collègues et à comprendre des consignes professionnelles.

Introduction to research Methodology

This module aims to equip the students in TVET related trades acquiring essential knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in the comprehensive research methodology. The emphasis will be put on description of research concept, development and presentation of research proposal. This module provides the ability to conduct a research proposal.
