This module describes skills, knowledge, and attitudes
required by the learners to apply sustainable tourism practices, promote
ecotourism practices, and apply environmental management practices.
This module is intended for a learner in Level 6, TVET Diploma, where the learner acquires skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to think about what constitutes a good life and how to live one. Ethics address questions of right and wrong, making good decisions, and the character or attributes necessary to live a good life. Environmental ethics apply ethical thinking to the natural world and the relationship between humans and the earth. Environmental ethics are a key feature of environmental studies including pollution, resource degradation, the threat of extinction, and global climate disruption.
The module will help the learner to be able to think ethically about the environment through the description of ethical theories, analyze ethics of conservation and apply moral discourse for leadership in environmental fields.This module describes the competencies required
for the control of animal diversity in the Albertine Rift region and to
perform proper tasks for the conservation of the animals. To ensure that conservation measures on
animals are effectively developed and put into practice, the trainee should
know animal species that belong to four major groups of vertebrates and the
insects found in the region, especially the Albertine Rift, made of Afromontane
biodiversity hotspots. For each group of those vertebrates and insects, the
trainee should know how to identify the species of the region, perform appropriate
field surveys, determine the threats facing those animals, and apply required
interventions to address the threats on them and their habitat.
This module describes the knowledge, skills, and
attitudes required to apply general Biology as it deals with wildlife. At the
end of this module, the students will be able to describe cell structure and
function, apply genetics and inheritance, analyze evolution theories and evidence, and experiment with ecological science.
This module describes the skills, knowledge, and
attitude required to classify and design forest plans, describe planning steps
for silvicultural and harvesting operations, perform planning data collection
and analysis, and apply forest management techniques of Rwanda (NFMP, SFMP,
DFMP, FMU, and FME). This module is intended to help students pursuing an
advanced diploma in Forest Resources Management. At the end of this module, the
students will be able to produce strategic and operational forest plans with
detailed information for sustainable forest management.
This module describes the skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to perform travel document checks by ICAO and IATA standards as well as the best industry practices. The trainee will be able to assist passengers with Visa requirements and, the application process as well as monitor and communicate the outcome of the application process. In addition, the trainee will be able to process travel documents for deportees and inadmissible passengers and liaise with the relevant authorities to prevent passport and visa fraud.
Rwanda is blessed to be found in a tropical
region which gives a chance to have a lot of diversity. Among those, we have
beautiful creatures in plants which attract thousands of tourists every year.
It is an integral element for a student who learning destination management to
understand and be able to interpret those flora resources. This module will
equip the learners with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to
describe the basics of botany, Identify Plants of Touristic Importance, and
finally create a species account of touristic flora for interpretation purposes.
This module describes the skills, knowledge, and right attitudes required to match the learning process with occupation, develop an action plan to meet occupation standards, and relate occupation with the labor market demand. The trainees will be able to identify the occupation and its learning processes. You will also set out the goals to perform the occupation and self-assessment. Since 2018, the ambition of Rwanda has been to double
the tourism revenue up to $800 by 2024. To reach this set vision, there is much
need to develop new products and diversify the existing products aimed at
meeting the present and future demands. This module is aimed at equipping

Forest, and Manage Urban Forest.
This module describes the skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to conduct a meaningful tour interpretation. In fact, the trainee will be able to manage safari equipment, lead the tour, and prepare an effective tour report.
