This module aims at helping English lecturers of advanced diploma students to promote effective English use in both social and workplace settings by engaging their students in communicative activities to:

•         develop oral proficiency and students’ confidence in using English in various communication situations, both formal and informal.

•        develop ability to good pronunciation, a wide range of vocabulary, English fluency, grammatical accuracy and language knowledge of what to say to whom and when in professional and social settings.

•        to perform some linguistic functions like asking permission, asking for information and making a request.

•        To enable students to use English effectively for social communication, we need to have them practice performing other functions in English
