This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to apply basic concept
of electricity and automation. It is intended for learners pursuing TVET diploma of
irrigation and drainage technology. At the end of this module the students will be able to
identify basic concepts in electricity, study the behavior and characteristics of AC and DC
circuits, identify Single and 3phase circuits, install different electrical circuits in irrigation
system, and install automated irrigation system. Qualified student deemed competent to
this competency, may work with others in support of current professional practice in
marshland, hillside, small scale irrigation, garden, greenhouses under guidance.
