Importance of the course Conducting successful university studies requires putting into actions various factors in order to achieve theoretical and practical works in addition to the exercises that are relevant to various courses. The introduction to scientific research aims at acquainting students with basic skills of scientific research such as key concepts in scientific research, various steps and methodological approaches used in carrying out and writing a dissertation. Course objectives Generally, the course aims at helping students to obtain skills and competencies in the field of social sciences. Hence, specific objectives of the course are the following:
• To clarify key concepts related to scientific research
• Identify the research problem
• Formulate research objectives, research questions and hypotheses
• Explain the sources and importance of literature review
• Explain instruments of data collection and data analysis
