Domestic Electrical Systems Installation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting is a practical and theory-based module that equips learners with the knowledge and skills required to safely install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical systems in residential buildings.

The module covers basic electrical principles, wiring methods, installation of lighting and socket circuits, distribution boards, protective devices (MCBs, RCCBs), and earthing systems. It also emphasizes electrical safety, use of testing instruments, reading electrical drawings, preventive maintenance, and systematic fault diagnosis of common domestic electrical problems such as short circuits, overloads, and earth faults.

Upon completion, learners are able to carry out domestic electrical installations according to standards, perform routine maintenance, identify faults accurately, and apply safe troubleshooting procedures in residential environments.
