The purpose of this module is to develop students’ ability to research, analyze, and interpret fashion history and trends in order to inform creative design decisions. The module enables students to understand how historical events, cultural influences, and social changes shape fashion over time, and how past trends can inspire contemporary designs. It also equips students with skills to search, filter, organize, and evaluate fashion information from various sources, and to apply this information in trend forecasting and design development. Through this process, students learn to make informed, innovative, and responsible design choices while respecting intellectual property and ethical practices in fashion research.
