This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to perform horticulture
production practices. It is intended for learners pursuing TVET Diploma (REQF level VI) in
horticulture or other related qualifications. At the end of this module, learners will be able
to plan for horticultural crop growing activities, establish horticultural crops, manipulate
the horticultural crop growing environment, carry out crop maintenance practices, and
carry out harvesting and postharvest handling practices. Qualified learners are deemed
competent to this competency may work alone or with others on routine tasks in various
places dealing with horticulture production such as private farmers, agricultural research
institutions, farmers’ cooperatives.
