The Digital Textile Design for Print Design Using Software module equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to create textile print designs using digital design tools and software applications. The course introduces students to the principles of textile print design, including motif development, repeat patterns, colorways, scale, placement, and composition, while integrating modern digital technologies used in the textile and fashion industries.
Students will learn to use industry-relevant software for creating and manipulating designs, developing repeats, color separations, and preparing artwork for textile printing processes such as screen printing, sublimation printing, and digital inkjet printing. The module emphasizes creativity, precision, and technical competence in transforming design concepts into professional print-ready textile artworks.
Through studio-based practical projects, students will develop competencies in computer-aided textile design (CAD), enabling them to produce innovative print designs for fashion, home furnishings, upholstery, and other textile applications.
