This course is designed for trainees in forestry, civil engineering, and construction who want to learn how to make timber and poles last longer  protecting them from fungi, insects, and harsh weather.
Together, we’ll explore the full process of wood preservation  from selecting and safely preparing preservatives, to properly seasoning and machining wood, and finally applying different treatment methods such as pressure treatment.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge and hands-on skills to produce high-quality, treated timber products that meet both industry and regulatory standards. More importantly, you’ll be helping to promote the sustainability of Rwanda’s forest resources while ensuring longer-lasting infrastructure.
