Until the end of 18th century, the study of materials things was called natural philosophy. As the knowledge expand it was necessary to divide that study into two branches: biological sciences studying living things and physical sciences studying non living things.
The two main physical sciences are chemistry which deals with the action of things involving the change of nature and Physics which deals with matter in relation to energy.
Physics is divided into branches like: mechanics, optics, magnetism, electricity, electronics, thermodynamics, materials science, nuclear physics, atomic physics, etc.
Physics gives us knowledge of the world around us and how things works the way there are. This knowledge is mandatory for technician. i.e physics is the basic science of understanding natural phenomena while technology is the application of such ideas to solve everyday problems and complete tasks by using the world around us.
For almost all option of technology, this module is common. The syllabus provides the necessary bridge between the school education and engineering education which the students pursue from their second year of study. For successful completion of engineering diploma with flying colors, a thorough knowledge of basics is very much essential.
The Content of this module of Physics fundamentals provides necessary basic ideas and concepts in a lucid manner. Real life applications and practical examples are included in this text, wherever required for the benefit of the learner.
The students should give due importance in understanding the various basic concepts with which only they can shine in their career, rather than reading them by heart.
