Design of micro water harvesting structure (IDTMH601) is a course offered to second-year students in the TVET Diploma in Irrigation and Drainage Technology, Department of Agricultural Engineering at Rwanda Polytechnic IPRC-GISHARI. The purpose statement of this module is to describe the skills, knowledge, and attitude required to design micro water harvesting structures.
At the end of this module, the students will be able to:
1. Identify water-harvesting site for designing water-harvesting infrastructure.
2. Collect the data needed and
3. Complete design of small water harvesting structure.
Qualified students deemed competent in this competency may work with others in support of current professional practice in rainwater harvesting, in situ rainwater harvesting, and groundwater harvesting-related activities under guidance.
The number of credits of this module is 5 with 50 learning hours. The module is organized into 3 elements of competence: Identify water harvesting site for designing water harvesting infrastructure, Collection of data needed and complete design of micro water harvesting structure.
