Bachelor of Food Technology

This module describes the skills, knowledge, and attitude required to establish a food safety and quality management system. It is intended for learners who have successfully completed the advanced diploma in food processing or its equivalent and are pursuing a Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) in Food Technology. At the end of this module, learners will be able to establish quality standards and food safety programs in the work area, take correction and corrective action in response to quality and food safety non-compliance, and maintain and improve quality and food safety in the work area. Qualified learners deemed competent to this competency may work alone or with others on routine tasks in food manufacturing industries dealing with the processing of different products; performing a range of functions related to food processing, he/she can take some managerial responsibility for the

work of others within a defined and supervised structure work as he/she can also take supervision in less familiar areas of work.
