This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to perform network security. This module is developed for students following TVET advanced diploma in Information and communication technology for being skilled and knowledge to the characteristics of security principles, technologies, and procedures to defend networks and to the core security concepts and skills needed for the installation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of network devices to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data and devices through interactive, multimedia content, lab activities, and multi-industry case studies.

By the end of the module, the trainee will be able to:

Evaluation approach (Assignment/ homework, Formative assessment, Summative assessment, integrated assessment, Reassessment)

§   Learning Unit 2: Monitor and Analyze network traffic

§   Learning Unit3: Plan Network backup solution

§  Learning Unit4: Describe cryptography

§  Learning Uni5: Implement server-based Authentication, Authorization,

Accounting

§  Learning Unit6: Implement Firewall technology

§  Learning Unit7: Implement Virtual private networks
