Production and Manufacturing Technology
Engineering mechanics is an important analytical tool that allows an engineer to optimize a design, creating one that it is strong and rigid enough to do the job, but not overly heavy and expensive. A thorough study of mechanics requires some knowledge of calculus and vector mechanics that many students do not ordinarily complete until the end of their sophomore year. Such a course is an essential component of many engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil engineering. The purpose of this course is to provide introductory engineering students with some important, basic analysis tools that can be applied to many design projects.
