Forest Resources Management

This module describes the skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to manage a team. Upon completion of this module, the trainee will be able to apply professional communication skills, including describing clearly the basics of communication, delivering effectively a speech, performing a proper interview, and writing properly business letters, reports, and memos. Furthermore, the trainee will be able to apply team-leading skills, including managing effectively employees, resolving appropriately workplace problems, and giving effectively instructions and feedback. Finally, the trainee will be able to manage meetings by acquiring the skills in preparing, conducting, debriefing, and following up on a meeting.

This courses bring skills about how to manage forest plantation 

This module describes skills and knowledge required to establish a forest depending upon their end uses. Students be able to clean perfectly tree planting site, to carry out/supervise diching and pitting operations, to perform seedlings transportation and planting tree seedlings, Students will acquire site mapping skills and knowledge. At the end of this module, students will be competent in afforestation.

This module describes skills, knowledge and attitudes required to carry out and manage tending operations including forest pruning, thinning, fertilization weeding and establishment of taungya system in a planted forest. At the end of this module, students will be competent in managing established forest plantations

This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes that a trainee will be required in tree seed extraction, tree seed cleaning and tree seed store. It is necessary for each forest company growing with forest or individual forest farmer need a well processed tree seed for the maximum germination within different storage period.

This module is designed to train learner with skills, knowledge and attitudes related to prepare tree nursery site, construct tree nursery, perform tree seed sowing, pricking out of tree nursery seedlings and maintain tree nursery

This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes that a trainee will be required in tree seed sourcing, mother tree selection, tools used during tree seed collection, tree seed harvesting technics as well as tree seed fruits transportation means to the processing sites. It is essential for tree seed center to sell good tree seed that are identified, localized and selected based on the projected end use products to meet with the forest growers needs.

This module describes the skills, knowledge and right attitudes required to match the learning process with occupation, develop action plan to meet occupation standards and relate occupation with the labor market demand. This module is intended for trainees pursuing Advanced Diploma in all engineering trades. The trainees will be able to identify the occupation and its learning processes. They will also be able to integrate in the working environment, set out the goals to perform the occupation and self assessment. This module encourages greater motivation and, subsequently, a better integration of various learning. The trainees will be able to independently develop a comprehensive and clear vision of the occupation and training program at professional level.
