This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to perform data collection using GPS, manipulate geographic interface required to produce thematic map in ArcGIS, explore ArcMap and Arc Cathalogue, select the appropriate shape files, add layers of required data, categorize the optical sensors, digitilize in ArcMap and describe the process of RS. This module is intended to students parsuing advenced diploma in Forest Resources Management. At the end of this module, the students will be able to produce and interpret a forest map showing various forest features and use it in its management.
This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to perform forest conversion, forest restoration and forest rehabilitation. This module is intended to students pursuing diploma in Forest Resources Management. At the end of this module, the students will be able to perform social-economic and/or conservational reforestation through forest conversion, forest restoration and forest rehabilitation in the best interest of the ecosystem that has been destroyed due to previous overuse of the land or to reduce the amount of erosion in the soil in an area and establish a more fertile and stable soil base under minimum supervision.
Purpose statement
This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to conduct forest
logging, perform tree felling, accomplish logs extraction, and execute logs
measurements, loading and transport.
It is a requirement for each forest technician to conduct forest harvesting in the
management of forest resources.
