Civil Engineering

This is a core module which describes the performance outcomes, skills knowledge and attitude required to identify building construction principles. This module is intended for students pursuing a TVET diploma in quantity surveying. At the end of this module students will be able to describe the construction principles of preliminary items, describe the construction principles of substructures, describe the construction principles for super structure, describe construction principles for openings and describe the construction principles for external works (roads, retaining walls, bridges, dams, culvert etc.).

Civil Engineering

This module is designed for students pursuing Tvet Diploma courses in quantity surveying. It describes the skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to apply technical drawing. At the end of this course, the learner will be able to use construction drawing instruments, materials and equipment; apply lines and symbols used in drawing and perform 2 & 3 dimensional drawing.

Image du cours Measurement of Simple Element
Civil Engineering

This module describes the skills and knowledge required to perform measurement of simple elements, identify units and calculation of involved quantities in construction and budling services, starting from substructure to roofs works and furthermore extending to demolition and alterations. If it remains to be indispensable for construction practitioners to accomplish daily tasks without performing measurements, let trainees in Quantity surveying be acquainted with skills, knowledge and attitude to perform proper measurement. At The End of this module the learner should be able to :

1. Measure walling works

2. Measure quantities for building finishes

3. Measure doors and windows

4. Measure joinery fittings

5. Measure demolitions and alteration works

6. Measure timber roofs Works

Image du cours CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Civil Engineering

This module is designed to prepare students pursuing Diploma courses in Land Surveying to handle the practical and managerial tasks. It covers the main concepts of planning, scheduling, organizing and controlling construction works. It covers a construction project schedule as a network of activities, understanding of the logic diagram; network analysis through forward pass, backward pass, critical path and float, updating, evaluation and use of schedule and resource in cost of activity. The module is made of four Learning Units which are:

Learning Unit 1: IDENTIFY NEED OF MANAGEMENT IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

Learning Unit 2: DESCRIBE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS STRATEGIES

Learning Unit 3: IDENTIFY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT PLANNING

Learning Unit 4: DESCRIBE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SCHEDULING
