The course of Geophysics and Soil mechanics intends to introduce to learners of land surveying about the soil genesis, soil geomorphology, earth characteristics and earth structure. The course will help land surveying students to understand the earth on which they will be surveying. It intends to describe some of the processes happening on earth surface and in under-earth surface layers as well ( like mass wasting, wearthering of rocks, internal geodynamics, etc).
Having successfully completed this unit, students will be able to read, understand and give the right interpretation of different texts in the field of technology. Students will get opportunities to develop English vocabulary, terms and expressions related to their respective field of technology .They will also be able to express themselves fluently both orally and in writing.
The purpose of this course is to introduce the concept of land Development, Administration and Law and attention to the benefits that society can reap from a good land administration and Law.
Advanced diploma-engineering surveying students are supposed to know earthwork computation, cost estimate, tendering and contractual agreement operations, cost estimation and bill of quantities determination. To perform above functions, it is essential to impart knowledge and skills regarding measurement and drawings; specification based on the field of construction.
Having successfully completed this module, students will be able To provide an overview of research procedures, forms of evaluation and various types of techniques used for research data collection. The foundation and framework for the conceptualization of a dissertation project will be the main focus of assignments, discussions, and overall coursework.
