This module describes the skills, knowledge and
attitude required to determine hydraulic parameters for irrigation system. It
is intended for learners pursuing TVET diploma of irrigation and drainage
technology. At the end of this module the students will be able to confirm
water delivery specifications for irrigation system, determine pressures
required to deliver required amount of water over specified area and select
system components to deliver water efficiently. Qualified student deemed
competent to this competency, may work with others in support of current
professional practice in marshland, hillside, small scale irrigation, garden,
greenhouses under guidance.
This module describes
the skills, knowledge and attitude required to perform topographical survey. It
is intended for learners pursuing TVET diploma of irrigation and drainage
technology. At the end of this module the students will be able to identify the
site according to the technical requirements, select tools and equipment to
perform topographic tasks, apply data collection techniques, store field
collected data, produce topographic map, and use the topographic map. Qualified
student deemed competent to this competency, may work with others in support of
current professional practice in marshland, hillside, small scale irrigation,
garden, greenhouses under guidance.
This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to plan Small scale irrigation system. It is intended for learners pursuing TVET diploma of irrigation and drainage technology. At the end of this module the students will be able to identify irrigation needs, collect and analyze resources and perform pre-feasibility study. Qualified student deemed competent to this competency, may work with others in support of current professional practice in marshland, hillside, small scale irrigation, garden, greenhouses under guidance.
