This module describes the skills and knowledge required to select the road alignment, 
identify instruments and surveying aids, produce topo map and technical drawings, 
perform setting out of horizontal alignments, perform setting out the vertical 
alignment and perform setting out cross sections and hairpin bends to perform road 
setting.

This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to apply engineering physics. At the end of this module, the trainee should be able to describe, interpret and apply the introductory concepts of classical mechanics, geometrical and physical optics, applied electromagnetics, and laser applications. It will be useful to trainee to analyze data, solve problems encountered in engineering as well as solving real life problems.

Purpose statement

This module aims at equipping the learner with skills, knowledge and attitudes required to apply advanced computer skills that facilitate effective learning at the workplace. After completion of this module, learner will be able to apply computer fundamentals concepts, design a professional word document, prepare a professional presentation, use spreadsheets, and use the internet and search engines as well as using web-based applications software.

 

 

 

Upon completion of this module, trainees will be able to:

  • Apply Computer Fundamentals: Understand and manage computer systems, including file and folder management and system protection.

  • Apply Advanced Word Processing: Create, format, and enhance professional documents using features like mail merge, references, and automation.

  • Apply Advanced Spreadsheet Skills: Effectively use formulas, functions, and formatting to manage and present spreadsheet data.

  • Apply Advanced PowerPoint Presentation Skills: Design and create professional presentations with proper formatting, transitions, animations, and slide master management.

  • Use the Internet: Understand network basics and effectively use web browsers, search engines, and web-based applications.

This module is designed for students pursuing Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying.

It describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to apply AutoCAD software. At the end of this module, the students will be able to install AutoCAD, interpret AutoCAD features and produce AutoCAD drawings.
