This module describes the skills, knowledge, and attitude required to design sanitation facilities. At the end of this module, the students will be able to design solid waste facilities, wastewater treatment plants, sewer networks, and faecal sludge treatment plants.

Environmental microbiology and Chemical Kinetics module describe the skills and knowledge required to biologically perform wastewater and sewage treatment, understand the role of microorganisms in wastewater treatment which help to treat and purify wastewater and make it less harmful to the environment. Besides, it describes the importance of the order of reaction which is very necessary to determine the rate of reactions to successfully operate the wastewater treatment plant.
