Module Overview:
This module introduces students to the foundational concepts, processes, and techniques involved in media production. Focusing on both the practical and theoretical aspects, students will gain a broad understanding of how visual and audio content is conceptualized, produced, and delivered across various media platforms. The module covers the core principles of production that are essential for both Film & TV and Graphic Design & Animation, providing students with a solid framework to approach their respective creative fields.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this module, students will be able to:
- Understand the stages of media production (Pre-production, Production, and Post-production) and the roles involved.
- Apply the basic techniques of storytelling, scriptwriting, and storyboarding.
- Identify and use essential production tools and equipment (cameras, microphones, lighting, editing software, etc.).
- Collaborate effectively within a production team.
- Develop creative concepts and transform them into practical media projects.
- Analyze and critique media content, considering technical and aesthetic aspects.
- Demonstrate basic proficiency in industry-standard software for editing and production.
