PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC) TECHNOLOGY

This module describes the skills, knowledge,, and attitudes required to design, apply, demonstrate, commission and maintain PLC automation systems. It also describes the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to design, apply, demonstrate, commission, and maintain PLC automation systems. It is designed for trainees pursuing Advanced Diploma in Electrical Technology.
Module objectives

To introduce students to PLC operations, ladder logic creation, and basic programming concepts.
To establish communications with the PLC
To empower students to design, run, test, and debug ladder logic programs, as well as simulate the operation of real-world PLC components.

Each Learning Unit begins with a brief introduction outlining Learning Unit Coverage and learning objectives.

Learning unit concludes with a set of review questions and problems.
