RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to identify electrical services needs, size the needed residential/commercial electrical installation and apparatus, install, repair and maintain residential /commercial electrical devices, equipment. It also demonstrates the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to design and install public lighting system and to install and service engine standby generator for premises plus power factor improvement. It is designed for trainees pursuing Diploma in Electrical Technology. By the end of this module, the trainee will be able to perform the identification of electrical services needs, the sizing of needed residential/commercial electrical installation, apparatus, maintenance and repair of residential /commercial electrical devices and equipment. The trainee will also be able to make the design and installation of public lighting system and the installation and servicing of engine standby generator for working premises and power factor improvement.
