Purpose statement
This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to apply
engineering electromagnetics and wave optics. At the end of this module, the trainee
should be able to describe, interpret and apply the concepts of electricity, magnetism,
electromagnetism and Wave optics. This module will help the trainees to perform their
tasks in specific modules. It will be useful to trainees to analyse data, solve problems
encountered in engineering as well as solving real life problems.
It is built by five (5) Learning Units and in each unit there different Learning Outcomes leading students to the best learning (Scope).
The ultimate aim of this module is to give students a thorough understanding of the basic concepts of physics in all its aspects.
A second objective is to show students how useful physics is in their own everyday lives and how is related to technology
This course is for Year students in Electrical Technology. Academic year 2020-2021.
The main objective of this module is to help students, in electrical technology, grasp the fundamental laws underlying different electromagnetic phenomena by understanding the state of E-fields and B-fields in different media of space. This will be achieved by describing the interaction of thsese fields and media; describing electrical, magnetic and electromagnetic processes; Relating fundamental laws and existing technological applications in electrical engineering.
