Purpose statement This module is designed for students pursuing Diploma courses in Automobile Technology. It describes the skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to perform material and metallurgy. At the end of this course, the learner will be able to describe metal properties, describe metal alloys and steel alloying elements, describe heat treatment of metals, describe non-metal materials, alloying element in steel, perform equilibrium diagram and solubility and perform equilibrium diagram for two metals that are completely soluble in each other both in liquid and solid states.
