This module will impart to the learner the ability to select and apply different habitat management techniques and options (learning unit 2) and to restore habitats to their optimal ecological state after habitat changes have occurred (learning unit 3). This module describes
the skills and knowledge required to describe freshwater ecosystems including
lakes, rivers, and wetlands; to assess the status of freshwater bodies by
identifying the source of water pollution, analyzing the types of pollutants in water bodies and establishing water
pollution control measures. It also intends to equip learners with the skills
related to the restoration of degraded freshwater ecosystems and their
protection.
This module describes the skills and knowledge required to perform forest extension. It is a requirement for each forest technician to perform forest extension in the management of forest resources. and Conservation Technologies. It describes the skills and knowledge required
to collect and manage plant and animal specimens. These wildlife collections
offer a wealth of information and represent a baseline to guide conservation,
restoration, and species-replacement efforts. In addition, the specimens
provide material for research on evolution and species distribution. Our
ability to understand the natural world depends on the collection, preparation,
preservation, and ongoing study of biological specimens.
